An Ineffective Solution for Administrators

Benjamin Ginsberg has an interesting piece on the roll of administrators at universities. His observations in the first half of the piece seem sound enough. Universities who have a two to one ratio of administration to faculty certainly have too many administrators. His solution, however, does not seem to me to be a good one. It would seem that universities would simply use it as an excuse to hire more administrators to ensure compliance with the legal burden.
